The Moose Pub is a long time supporter of Surrey Memorial Hospital.  Here they present a cheque for $10,000 for Pediatric Oncology.  Funds are raised through weekly meat draws.  Thank you!

The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 240 from Crescent Beach, stopped by the Foundation with a gift of $4,000.  We are very grateful for their ongoing support!

BC Cultural Bhangra Academy held a fundraising dinner and dance "Hands for the Future" on Friday, November 20th.  This amazing event with a silent auction raised over $17,000 for Surrey Memorial Hospital. 

The Bhuddist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation of Canada presented a cheque for $31,141 for the new Emergency Centre, slated to open in 2013.  This is part of their five year pledge to raise a total of $155,704 in support of better healthcare in our regional hospital.

RBC Scott Town Branch are celebrating their 50 year anniversary this November. A donation of $25,000 by RBC Foundation will help the hospital purchase a laser cystoscope and give surgeons a high-tech tool to treat bladder and prostate cancers. For patients, this equipment will mean less time in the operating room, quicker recoveries, shorter hospital stays, and less pain.
 

The North Delta Rotary Club held a lobster dinner fundraiser with proceeds of $10,000 to benefit the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.  Funds will go towards the purchase of an incubator.  Thank you!

Guru Gobind Singh Children's Foundation presents a cheque to the Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation for $5,000 after running across Canada to raise funds for children's health.  Congratulations on your extraordinary run!  We are so proud of our youth who support the community with the Children's Run Across Canada.

Kiran Dhaliwal, Dave Dhaliwal and Shelby DeLisle of Westside Wireless present a cheque for $460.00 to Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation.  They recently held a Grand Opening BBQ, and matched all donations made during the event.  Thank you, Westside Wireless for your support.

Stephen Stefanyk from Scott Road Brewing held an open house on May 23rd to benefit Surrey Memorial Hospital.  Here Stephen presents a cheque for $1,017.00 to Jennifer Dmytryshyn of SMH Foundation.  The funds will benefit the new Children's ER.

Kirkbride Elementary School in Surrey has been recycling bottles, cans, and drink boxes in support of Surrey Memorial Hospital. Student organizers Manseerat Randhawa, Priya Benipal, Tonya Dhindsa, Amreena Chahal, and Priya Rehallu present the Foundation with a $250 cheque during the last day of school.

$1,000 has been raised for Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation by a Newton Elementary School class led by teacher Shelley Stark (back row, 1st left) with special education assistant Bev Painter.

The grade 4 students created a quilt that generated the donation. The quilt represents the uniting of the Aboriginal and European cultures, and showcases the common virtues and values that are important to both.

The Hook and Ladder Pub Duck Race is an annual fundraising event to benefit Surrey Memorial Hospital.  Rubber ducks race down a stream to a photo finish.  This year, the Hook and Ladder Pub raised $2,425 for our hospital.  Funds raised help to purchase new medical equipment.

The Ukrainian Women's Association of Canada (Whalley Branch) is a very proud supporter of Surrey Memorial Hospital.  Since 1994, they have given close to $4,000 to support our regional hospital.  Money is raised through monthly perogie dinners.  They really enjoy the Foundation's Tulips for Tomorrow campaign and have recieved their own tulip planters for two years in a row.

TD Canada Trust has very generously funded a nursing scholarship for nurses at Surrey Memorial Hospital.  The scholarship allows nurses to upgrade and expand their skills to provide the best healthcare to our patients.  To date, over 30 nurses have benefitted from this scholarship.

Queen Elizabeth Secondary School holds an annual fundraising event, Roots and Rythms, featuring some very talented students.  There is a fashion show, live music, Bhangra dancing, Hip Hop, and much more.  This year they raised $6,750 for Surrey Memorial Hospital.
